【摘要】:Thepurposeofthesetestmethodsistoprovidereliableandrepeatabletestsfortheevaluationofvarioustypesofprotectiveheadgear.Useofthesetestmethodsinconjunctionwiththespecificindividualperformancestandardsisintendedtoreducethelikelihoodofseriousinjuryanddeathresultingfromimpactstotheheadsustainedbyindividualsparticipatinginsports,recreation,andotherleisureactivitiesinwhichprotectiveheadgearisworn.1.1Thesetestmethodscoverlaboratoryequipment,procedures,andbasicrequirementspertinenttotestingprotectiveheadgear.Deviationsoradditions,orboth,tothesetestmethodswillbespecified,asrequired,inindividualASTMperformancestandards.1.2Requirements8212;Theprotectiveheadgearistobetestedunderspecifiedenvironmentalconditionsforthefollowing:1.2.1Impactattenuation(thelimitingofheadacceleration)oftheprotectiveheadgear,and1.2.2Strengthandstabilityoftheretentionsystemanditsattachmenttotheprotectiveheadgear.1.2.3Specialtestsforparticularprotectiveheadgearuseswillbespecifiedintheindividualperformancestandardstobeusedinconjunctionwiththesetestmethods.1.3Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
