【摘要】:Thispracticecoversthequalificationofasqueezeprocessconsistingofacombinationofasqueezetool,pipe,andsqueeze-offprocedurestoavoidlong-termdamageinpolyethylenegaspipe.Thispracticeexaminestheinsideandoutsidesurfacesofthepipenearthesqueezetodeterminetheexistenceoffeaturesindicativeoflong-termcracking.Theoccurrenceofthesefeaturesdependsonthesqueezetooldesign,thepipebeingsqueezed,andthesqueezeproceduresbeingused.Thispracticeisparticularlyappropriateforpre-1975Polyethylene(PE)pipe,andforpipewithdiametergreaterthanorequalto8in.,becauseofthegreaterpossibilityoflongtermdamage.Afterthevisualscreeningidentifiesaviablesqueezeprocess,asustainedpressuretestinaccordancewithSpecificationD2513shouldbeusedtoconformtheviability.Thispracticeisforusebysqueeze-toolmanufacturersandgasutilitiesforallsqueezetoolsmadeinaccordancewithSpecificationF1563;pipemanufacturedinaccordancewithSpecificationD1513,uptoandincludingpipediametersof12in.;andsqueezeproceduresinaccordancewithGuideF1041.Governingcodesandprojectspecificationsshouldbeconsulted.Nothinginthispracticeshouldbeconstruedasrecommendingpracticesorsystemsatvariancewithgoverningcodesandprojectspecifications.WhereapplicableinthisGuide,"pipe"shallmean"pipeandtubing."Thevaluesstatedininch-poundunitsaretoberegardedasstandard.Thevaluesinparenthesesareforinformationonly.Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
